The MB90 Website

Mechanical and External Restoration

1st January 2010 - not much has happened on MB90 recently as she is awaiting a new fuel tank to be made to hopefully overcome the fuel problems. With the current tank sent away for copying, little can be done as she can only run very short distances meaning no road testing can be carried out. Another update will follow when the new tank is made and fitted.

25th November - Time for a quick update on MB90 as the website hasn't been updated for a while. She is now back at London Bus and Truck (they currently must have one of the largest Merlin and Swift gatherings for a long time, with SM1, SM97 and SMS753 also in for work) where the remaining mechanical issues are being sorted out, mainly the amount of leaks and the fuel problems. Since she has been there, the diesel leaks have been solved and she now runs a lot better, with more speed in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears and a higher top speed overall. The speedo has also been wired up and now works. Further work will include stripping the fuel system again as it is still picking up rubbish and clogging up the filters despite the tank being cleaned and the system flushed through several times, meaning we have to clean them before every trip out, which is not ideal!

Although there is not much to do to MB90 before she is painted sometime in the future (the inside will be finished first), pictures will be posted here of any changes made to the outside.

We have had some vinyl copies of original external transfers and fitted these. Pictures will follow.
